The project under the thematic area “EDUCATION FOR ALL”, was instigated with the aim of establishing safe and quality education for vulnerable rural children in 13 schools in Monaragala district, through a participatory and responsive community approach. Projects include building renovation for 2 schools; library renovation for 4 schools and science laboratory renovation for 3 schools. Meanwhile 6 schools will receive overhead water towers and water spots. The project will also focus on empowering students, teachers and parents to create and uphold quality education and child-friendly learning environments through career guidance programmes and training sessions.

The second phase of the project will focus on innovative development by introducing the SMART CLASSROOM concept in 15 schools. It will be a technological approach to learning with the reinforcement provided by IT equipment and learning technology such as computers, specialized software, audience response technology, networking, and audio/visual capabilities
